Ribboned Halter and Mini-Skirt

One day I stumbled upon a yard sale where this friendly old woman was getting rid of all her sewing supplies. She had the most amazing collection of ribbon I’d ever seen - I was literally shaking with excitement. I spent a whole night’s worth of waitressing tips (about 30 bucks, slow night) and came home with almost a hundred yards of ribbon. That evening I started making this outfit.

I stitched together 11 different types of ribbon (many vintage) then arranged them in a diagonal V on the front of the skirt, horizontal on the back of the skirt and vertical on the halter. Both pieces are lined with a vintage yellow geometric print cotton material.

Measurements: Halter is adjustable and ties at the neck and back. A-Line mini-skirt measures 32 inches at the waist, 48 inches around the hem.
