Baby Got Back

These jeans look normal and unassuming from the front, but turn around and there’s a patchwork party on the back. I made these in 1995 when I was working at a vintage clothing store called The Dragonfly. Each patch of fabric (no two are alike) is hand stitched in tiny X’s to the denim. Some of the fabric prints include such items as mushrooms, flowers, lemons, people, sun, moon and stars, hearts, monkeys and much more. Measurements: 32 inch waist, 30 inch inseam. These Levi’s are in used condition (at least 15 years old) but still have lots of wear left. I only wore them a couple times after I stitched on all the patches. They’ve also been in a few fashion shows and hung in a couple art exhibits. They make a nice wall hanging too. I guarantee there’s not another pair like this in the world.
